Luxury luggage trunks and travel cases

A trunk is the oldest form of luxury luggage and still the most striking. Voyanti's trunk collection includes compact coated canvas trunks with brass corners and a lock, leather-bound steamer-style trunks for the home, hat and shoe boxes, and trunk-style wheeled cases that borrow the look for modern travel. Each piece is made to the same specification as the boutique version, with the same canvas, leather trims, hardware and craftspeople, and sold below retail.

Trunks for travel versus trunks for the home

Wheeled trunk-style cases are built for airports and carry the same cabin and check-in dimensions as our suitcases. Classic trunks with rigid corners and no wheels are mostly bought for storage and display: as a coffee table, a side table or a place to keep seasonal clothing. Small trunks and boxes make a good jewellery or watch case for a dressing table.

Materials and hardware

Coated canvas over a wooden or composite frame keeps the trunk light and weather-resistant. Leather edging and brass or palladium corners protect the body and set the tone of the piece. Interiors are lined in cotton or microfibre, with removable trays on many styles.

Care

Keep trunks out of direct sun, dust the hardware with a soft cloth and condition leather trims once or twice a year.
