A 40 to 45 cm weekender holds two outfits, sleepwear, a pair of flat shoes and toiletries. Go to 50 cm if you are packing a hairdryer or a second pair of shoes. Most 50 cm bags still sit within the roughly 55 x 40 x 23 cm cabin standard, though a soft bag should not be overfilled.
